Training for Programs

Virtual Introduction to Elements of Effective Practice 
Tuesday, November 19, 12-1:30pm 

This 90-minute informational session is intended to introduce mentoring program staff to the technical assistance, training, and networking services provided by The Mentoring Partnership. The foundation of our services is based on the 16 Elements of Effective Practice, a collection of research-informed practices for youth mentoring programs.  During this workshop, you will be introduced to those elements as a way to learn how The Mentoring Partnership can offer you ongoing support.  Attending this training is also the first step in applying for technical assistance.  Sessions are currently being done virtually.  Click here to register

 

November 2024 LENS: Youth Voice

9:30am – 11:00am EST 

Join us for this virtual LENS Meeting for a conversation on youth voice!  Adelaide Moschler from MENTOR Independence Region will share tips for encouraging youth voice in programming. We will explore the Youth-Led Advocacy Guide and Chapter 8 of the Becoming a Better Mentor Guide - Honoring Youth Voice and Building Power.  This conversation is a continuation from our Mentor Chat Podcast on Youth Voice. TMP will also share information about our revised Making the Most of Mentoring Training that can serve as a resource for your mentoring programs. Click here to register


Training for Mentors

Mentoring 101
Saturday, December 14th, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
*This is the last Mentoring 101 for the year, so register now!

This 2-hour interactive training program provides participants with an introduction to mentoring and what to expect as a mentor. Topics like the "mentoring lifecycle," communication skills, establishing boundaries, and appreciating diversity will make it easier for mentors to navigate relationships with their mentees. This training is appropriate to introduce new volunteers to the field of mentoring and to refresh current mentors on best practices. Click here to register.

As a technical assistance providing organization through the National Mentoring Resource Center, TMP provides resources and coaching to help address your program's individual needs and improve implementation of mentoring best practices. All of TMP's support and services are rooted in the nationally recognized, research-based, Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring. Trained technical assistance providers at TMP can assist you and your program with topics such as program design, recruitment, mentor/mentee training, match closure procedures, program evaluation, and many others.  Check out our recent work with Providence Connections to see TMP's impact in action!

A $25 Million Dollar development is coming to HOMEWOOD! Primary Care Health Services Inc. has teamed up with state, federal and community members to celebrate this monumental moment.
