TMP Impact Profile: Crossroads Foundation
Since 1988, Crossroads Foundation has empowered young people in Pittsburgh by providing high-quality high school education and a route to support college and/or other post-secondary education. TMP has supported Crossroads with no-cost technical assistance since 2016, covering a wide range of topics including training and skill development, mentoring best practices, mentee participation and retention, e-mentoring transitions during the pandemic and program evaluation.
Most recently, TMP provided customized cultural humility and peer mentor training to Crossroads' youth, facilitating virtual sessions as needed to eliminate barriers to participation. TMP also played a critical role in helping Crossroads complete the National Quality Mentoring System, resulting in the development of an improvement and innovation plan that defined areas of strength and strategic growth.
"TMP has been a valuable resource to our organization, facilitating trainings for our staff, partners and scholars," said Crossroads staff. "One of our latest training courses with TMP was the Cultural Humility training performed with our LEAD scholars. In this training, our scholars learned the importance of considering other people's experiences and vantage points. It was a healthy, interactive journey where they discussed everything from self-advocacy plans to the cycle of socialization. We are grateful for our partnership with TMP."
