Relationship-Centered Schools

Why should schools intentionally center relationships? What benefits do students see when they have access to caring adults? How can we build those critical webs of support?

Relationships are powerful tools. They have the potential to inspire and motivate, create quality systems of support, and ultimately change lives. For young people, so many of those connections are formed and developed during their time at school. That’s why it’s critical that we are intentional about what those relationships look like and how they are distributed.

The Mentoring Partnership's Relationship-Centered Schools Framework helps schools create relationship-centered webs of support for their students.  By intentionally building and enhancing connections between students and adults -- teachers, support staff, administration, and community members -- we can take a holistic approach to creating positive opportunities for all students.
