Jack and Ethan

After hearing others talk about their experiences with the Equitrans Aspire Program, Jack decided to volunteer as a mentor. He believes that as long as you are willing to be flexible and mindful of each other’s availability, mentoring can fit into anyone's schedule. As a mentor, Jack has learned that “it’s more important to listen rather than try to constantly offer advice and guidance. If my mentee asks my opinion then I will gladly share it.”

Why does Jack think mentoring is important?  “I don’t think I fully realized the importance of a mentoring program until I started being a mentor. I’ve found that, regardless of the student’s background, there is always a benefit to both the student and mentor.”
