The Importance of Being Reliable
Let's Do This
Reliability is key in mentoring. Small actions, like keeping promises and communicating clearly, help to build trust and avoid misunderstandings.
- Be clear and timely in communication: If you need to reschedule plans with your young person, let them know as soon as possible.
- Follow through on commitments: When you set plans, make every effort to keep them. Even small changes can feel like a big deal to young people.
- Ask for help when needed: If work or personal matters make it hard to meet commitments, work together with the kids in your life to create a schedule that works for everyone.
Stay Inspired
Reliability builds trust, and trust builds meaningful connections. Each time you show up as promised, you’re creating a lasting impact on your young person’s sense of support and stability. Keep showing up – it matters more than you know!
