Provide Support
Self-Esteem and Confidence
Let's Do This
As kids grow up, how they see themselves is shaped by lots of things, including what people say to them and about them. When kids hear that their feelings are important, they start to feel more confident and believe their experiences matter. This also helps them learn to recognize and respect their own feelings, especially if they see a caring adult doing the same.
Stay Inspired
To encourage our young people's self-confidence, we as caring adults can:
- Normalize and acknowledge their feelings.
- Show empathy – remember the things you went through as a young person and validate their emotions.
- Use encouraging language and offer support and reassurance.
