Readjusting to School After Break
Let's Do This
As caring adults, we understand the challenges of returning to school or work after a break. While it's normal to feel anxious, there are also many exciting aspects to look forward to. Whether the young people you know are returning to school after a break or a long weekend, use the tips below to make the adjustment smoother. They'll fall back into their routine in no time!
- Go to bed early: Getting into bed 10 to 15 minutes earlier can make a difference. This extra time will allow you to wind down, and maybe even fall asleep faster.
- Prep the night before: Lay out your clothes, pack your lunch, and organize your backpack so you don't have to rush in the morning.
- Talk to your peers: Being kind is a great way to get into a positive mood. Ask your peers how their break was.
- Talk to a trusted adult: If the adjustment back into a routine or to school is not going smoothly, reassure your young one that they can talk to you.
