Helping Youth Build Confidence
Let's Do This
As caring adults, we can help our young people build their confidence, which can help them navigate challenges and achieve goals! A little encouragement can go a long way in building confidence:
- Point out the good things your young person is doing.
- Show excitement when they achieve something, big or small.
- Remind them that they matter.
- Listen to their ideas and opinions. Ensure they feel heard.
- Encourage them when they try something new, even if it's a struggle at first.
- Use positive words to build them up when they're feeling down.
Stay Inspired
Building confidence in youth is a celebration -- a celebration of their successes! Let your young people know you're proud and excited for them. Keep reminding them that they are important to you. For more info, visit Mental Health Alliance.
