Like adults, children experience and process emotions very differently. Stress and feelings of unease can be unsettling and sometimes overwhelming. Grounding techniques can be a great way for us to help young people deal with challenging emotions in a constructive and healthy manner.
Stay Inspired

You'll learn more about creating your own toolkit with items that engage the five senses to recenter yourself back to the present moment. For older youth who may not be interested in making a kit, teach them how to do this 5-4-3-2-1 technique by just using the things around you.
