While social media and online platforms offer several ways to help young people build relationships, they can also become unhealthy spaces. There are pros and cons to social media and we as caring adults can help the young people in our lives foster a healthy relationship with social media by sharing these tips:
- Set boundaries by limiting screen time.
- Focus on genuine connections by using social media to strengthen existing relationships.
- Create a healthy environment by unfollowing/blocking people who cause negative feelings.
- Protect your privacy by only sharing things you are comfortable with everyone seeing/knowing.
