5 Tips to Boost Confidence
Let's Do This
Confidence can be a tricky thing -- sometimes you might have it and sometimes you might not! As caring adults, we can help to boost the confidence of our young people and also encourage them to develop a mindset that will inspire self-confidence! Coach Will on Instagram shared five insightful tips on how to boost confidence. Next time your young person is in a confidence slump, try one of these tips:
- Ask yourself positive "what if" questions. For example, instead of asking "What if they judge me?" prompt yourself with "What if they become my friend?"
- Remember, people aren't scrutinizing you as much as you think they are. Most of the time, they're preoccupied with their own concerns.
- Challenge yourself to act with confidence by asking, "What would I do if I were more confident?" Then, take steps towards those actions.
- Invest your time and energy in things you have control over.
- Recognize that true confidence isn’t about being liked, it's about not fearing being disliked.
