The Mentoring Partnership (TMP) is excited to announce it is the recipient of an $80,000 grant from The Heinz Endowments to increase the capacity of mentoring programs to meet the needs of youth in Southwestern PA.  The grant, which will be awarded over two years, will support TMP in its work to bring high-quality mentoring to all kids in our region.

“It is our goal to ensure that all young people who need or want a mentor have access to one,” said TMP Executive Director Colleen Fedor.  “The Heinz Endowments’ support is critical to our ability to raise awareness of mentoring and to offer resources and best practices to local mentoring programs so they can continue to make a positive impact on our kids.”

Specifically, the grant will support several TMP projects, including the delivery of monthly professional development trainings, the creation of resource materials, the growth of TMP’s Quality Coaching process and the expansion of Everyday Mentoring.

The Heinz Endowments is devoted to the mission of helping our region prosper as a vibrant center of creativity, learning, and social, economic and environmental sustainability.  Core to its work is the vision of a just community where all are included and where everyone who calls Southwestern Pennsylvania home has a real and meaningful opportunity to thrive.
